DR. HAMILTON'S MATH CLASSES

Homework passes
We understand that things happen, and it's not always feasible to get everything
done. Since there will be math homework most days, each student can choose one
day to skip. Each has been given a "Get Out of Jail Free" pass to use in math class
to avoid one assignment of their choice. It won't be usable on a few assignments
which will be announced in advance. In pre-algebra classes, it can't be used for the
green Practice Skills workbook.
When they earn an "A" on a test, they get another pass.
Homework re-do's
Students may choose to re-do homework assignments. They should indicate at the
time it is due that they want to re-do it. After the choice is made, they must submit
the redone work and may not revert to their previous grade. This means that if they
say they will re-do it and then don't, it will count as a zero.
Procedure: The student will turn in the assignment they've already done [and didn't
like the grade on]. They will then completely re-do the entire assignment.

Credit: Redone assignments submitted by the next class day will be for full credit. Thereafter, 10% will be deducted.
Re-test
Students may re-take any quiz or test one time. The grade earned on the re-test will be substituted for the previous
quiz or test. Students may choose to re-test whenever they are not satisfied with the grade, it doesn't have to be a
failing grade in order to re-test.
Prerequisite: In order to be allowed to re-test, students must first satisfactorily complete a review assignment, which
will be announced for each quiz or test.
Time limit: Each re-test must be taken within the announced time frame for that item.
How?: It will likely be necessary to stay after school to re-test.
Due dates
Homework is due when it is due, and that is when it should be turned in.
Late work will be accepted with points off.
- 10% the first day
- 20% thereafter
There may be additional penalties when the work is more than two weeks late or after a specific deadline for a
particular item as previously announced
